Privacy Policy
Draft for legal review. This document is a starting draft prepared for Transit Fortress Inc. and has not been reviewed by counsel. Have an attorney review and adapt it before the site goes live. Delete this notice once that is done.
Transit Fortress Inc. (“Transit Fortress,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates transitfortress.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy covers the Site only. It does not cover data processed under a separate commercial agreement for our services; that is governed by the terms of that agreement.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a form on the Site — to request a demo, apply to our pilot program, or contact us — we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, that may include your name, work email address, phone number, company name, job title, role, shipping volume, commodity types, lanes of interest, loss history if you choose to provide it, and any message you write.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we and our analytics provider automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, including IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use Google Analytics for this purpose; see Section 5.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site, and we ask that you not submit any through our forms.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry, schedule a conversation, or evaluate a pilot application.
- To provide information about our products and services that you have requested.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve its content and performance.
- To protect the Site against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Legal bases
Where required by applicable law, we process personal information on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and marketing our business, the performance of steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, form processing, analytics, and email. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements. When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Transit Fortress, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate Site usage. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information about your visit. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on available from Google, and most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings.
We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, as no common standard for doing so has been adopted.
6. Data retention
We retain form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of our business relationship, and thereafter as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s default retention settings.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may unsubscribe from our communications at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. Residents of certain states and countries may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
